One of the things about living in today’s world of opportunity is that success leaves clues.
Just about everything that we want to do has already been done by someone else.
And it does not matter whether it is starting a business, or losing weight or sailing around the world or moving to an island.
Someone else has already done it and left clues.
Now these clues are in books, videos, seminars, workshops and online courses.
So the question I would ask is this : Who has already done what you want to do?
Whatever it is you want to learn, whether is is how to build a six or seven figure business, or how to meditate, you can reach out to people that have already been successful in what you want to do.
Like coaches and mentors.
When you take advantage of this information, you will discover that life is simply a connect-the-dots game.
All those dots? They have already been identified and organised by someone else.
All you have to do is to use the system or program that they provide.
So why don’t people seek out clues.
You know when I ask people what do you want – Most people can tell me what they don’t want, but very few people can tell me what they do want.
Or if they do, they just don’t know how to go about it.
They just don’t realise that they can ask someone.
Unfortunately the fear of rejection gets in the way.
See the thing is, most people love to talk about how they built their business or accomplished their biggest dreams.
Most people do not take advantages of all the resources available to them because of several reasons.
It never occurred to them, because their friends or their parents never used these resources.
It’s way too inconvenient and they would have to go to the library or drive across town to a meeting, or it would take away from their television time.
See, asking for advice is taking a risk of being rejected.
Because doing something in a new way would mean change, and so even if it is in peoples best interests, it is uncomfortable.
After all, connecting the dots means hard work and most people just don’t want to work hard.
So here are three ways that you can begin to seeking out these clues.
- Seek out a book, a coach, a mentor or a internet resource to help you achieve one of your major dreams.
- Seek out someone who has already done it – already done what you want to do, and just ask them if you can interview them on how they succeeded.
- Ask someone if you can shadow them, even if it is just for a day, so you can watch them work – or volunteer or intern for someone who you can learn from.
Remember success leaves clues.
